About this job:

Under the direction of the T&I Manager, the Project Engineer will focus primarily on project management tasks and responsibilities associated with composite cylinder qualification, manufacturing, and Customer support.  Maintains BoMs, Routings and files engineering drawings, specifications, and documents. Proficiency with Solidworks (or other CAD software), manufacturing process control, composite materials and manufacturing, and quality assurance is highly desirable.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Project management related to special customer requests.
  • Work in and foster a team environment with other engineers, production, QA, test, materials control, contract management, and sales personnel.
  • Set performance goals and provide regular feedback via informal and scheduled reviews.
  • Facilitate meetings to effectively inform management and the team of project status.
  • Participate in Design and manufacturing of composite pressure vessels.
  • Creation and maintenance of production drawings, setup sheets and bills of materials
  • Programming of CNC controlled machines
  • Assembly of test data and calculations for submission to approval authorities to attain design certifications.
  • Troubleshooting of pressure vessels manufacturing processes and manufacturing process development
  • Lead and/or participate in process improvement activities to improve yield, increase efficiency and develop customer specific solutions.
  • Seek and evaluate innovative technical and engineering options, including alternative and/or emerging technologies, for Luxfer to improve its current business and grow into related new business opportunities.

Required Ability:

 

  • Project management experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with CNC machines/controls and basic G-code an asset
  • Familiarity with general programming languages and concepts
  • Experience with 3D Modeling/CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks etc.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design practices and pressure vessels standards and regulations an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to use business software systems Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Familiarity with ERP platform and paperless accounting systems.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paces and changing environment.
  • Must be able to follow processes and procedures
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to handle multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of cost improvements. Robotics and/or PLC experience a plus
  • Ability to effect change using “Lean” tools and techniques

Education/Training Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer or an equivalent in a manufacturing or production facility.

Compensation:
Base salary between $80,000-$90,000 DOE.
